Ljubo Babic – Anthology by Studio Rašić
Ljubo Babic Anthology Exhibition in the Modern Gallery in Zagreb shows and analyses one of the most productive creative opuses in Croatian cultural history.
Ljubo Babic (1890 – 1974) was a painter, set designer, costume designer, graphic artist, art pedagogue, as well as a critic, art historian and a writer.
Main visual elements of the exhibition are the colours black and red. They refer to paradigmatic works of Babic – flags and flame – a theme which the artist practices in various media: paintings/pictures, books, posters and sets.
Two colors dictate a rhythm of movement through the exhibition, and elements such as a waving flag and a flicker of flame are interpreted throughout all segments of the visual identity, space, signalization, catalogue and publications.
